Fagner Magrinelli Rocha, D.M.A.
Dr. Fagner Magrinelli Rocha currently teaches Violin and Viola at Angelo State University. An active performer, Dr. Rocha serves as Concertmaster for the Big Spring Symphony (TX) and also plays with the San Angelo Symphony. Additionally, Dr. Rocha performs frequent solo and chamber music recitals in both Violin and Viola.
Before his appointment at ASU, Dr. Rocha served as Assistant Professor of Violin at the Federal University of Alagoas in Maceió, Brazil.
Dr. Rocha holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin performance from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (Porto Alegre, Brazil) and a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees in Violin Performance from the Texas Tech University. His major teachers include, Dr. Fredi Gierling, Prof. Hella Frank, Dr. Kirsten Yon and Prof. Annie Chalex-Boyle.
This Summer, Dr. Rocha presented recitals in the Italy, Spain and was Concertmaster for the Opera Maya Festival in Mexico and coordinated the ASU Music Camp. Still this Summer, Dr. Rocha will teach at the Hill Country Youth Orchestra Camp in August in Kerrville, Texas.
Dr. Rocha performs on a modern 2011 Luiz Amorim violin.
